Communion: Reclaiming True Companionship

True Companionship Starts from Within: Moving from isolation to deep, radical connection

"To know communion, we must be willing to let go of our fear of intimacy, to face the ways we have been wounded and hurt, and to open our hearts again." -bell hooks

  • True companionate love requires us to brave the journey of self-communion first. We must look inward, heal our own relationship with our minds and bodies, and build the foundation to truly show up for others.

"To know love we have to let go of the will to dominate. We have to choose companionship over control." — bell hooks

  • True companionship cannot exist where there is a desire to dominate. The patriarchy teaches men to substitute control for intimacy, isolating them from their feelings and their partners’. Reclaiming companionship means dismantling these dynamics so we can meet each other in absolute vulnerability, equality, and mutual care.

Ready to dive deeper into Theme 7: Companionship? Let's deconstruct and rebuild together. These texts challenge us to dismantle old boundaries and build a revolutionary practice of love, intimacy, and healing.
